PJ Motsiff, Varsity Coach

Coach Motsiff  begins his third season as the head coach of the Scotties.  Last year the team won its first ever Foothills Council Championship going 15-1 in the League and 15-4 overall!   It was a good thing too, because this year the team has been relegated to the Powerful Suburban Council.  The 2003 team had 14 shutouts, scored 60 goals and gave up only 3 in league play.  Most impressive was that the team was nominated by the section 2 officials as the class A sportsmanship team as they only collected 3 yellow cards all season.
Two years ago the team finished third in the foothills behind Scotia and Gloversville with a 10-4-2 record (11-7-2 overall).  The highlight of 2002 was the post season.  The team beat perenial Suburban Council powerhouse Niskayuna in the first round of sectionals before bowing out 1-0 to Bethlehem (Ranked 16th in the USA) in the Quarterfinals of Section 2.

Coach Motsiff has many years experience coaching at a variety of  levels.  His coaching history includes; Black Watch Premier Girls U19 and U23 teams, Empire State Games Scholastic Boy's Selection Committee, Hoosick Falls Varsity Boys, Saratoga Varsity Girls, Cortland State Varsity/JV Women, Cortland State Varsity/JV Men, The College of Saint Rose Varsity Men.  Coach Motsiff holds his national coaching license through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

He Currently resides in Glens Falls with his wife Kate, 31/2 year old daughter, Caroline, and 10 month old son, Jack.

Herb Hall - Goalkeeping Coach

Coach Hall comes to Ballston Spa high school after spending the past four seasons working with the keepers at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York.  This is the same school he attended and played for while an undergraduate student.  Coach Hall will be looking to really define the role of the goalkeeper and focus on the technical aspects of the game through individual instruction.

Coach Hall grew up in Cambridge, New York where he held the school shut-out record until 2 years ago.  After spending 3 seasons together at The College of Saint Rose, he is looking forward to working with Coach Motsiff again.  Some History:  When these two played together in high school - they were class c section 2 co-champions in 1988.  What will happen as they compete together as coaches in class AA?

Coach Hall is a sheriff with Saratoga County.  He lives in Malta with his wife Traci and one year old son.
